Lessons

Memorial Day Weekend.  Oh my goodness.  What a lot of lessons were in store.  Where to start?

Ok start in reaction to a stressful day and a half, I had an emotional binge of overeating, and yet still lost 1.4 lbs this week.  That is spectacular!!!! That means a person can have one bad day, but if they are doing well otherwise, that one day will not ruin the whole week.  That is terrific!  Current Weight Watchers weigh in is 166 lbs.  My homescale this morning said 165 lbs also.

What triggered the emotional binge was an overnight trip for a reunion.   I had planned it badly, not taking into consideration the needs of the adults traveling together.  I'd planned the trip as if we were still in college and happy to rough it.  But when we arrived my plans fell apart, making it apparent the plans were merely a fragile house of cards all along.

The lessons learned were: 1. plan better, 2. when disaster strikes, keep a brave face, to encourage those around.  Part of keeping a brave face is practicing faith in god to provide all that is needed; or in other words, fake it till you make it.  Trying to believe all is as god wants it; and all will be as god wants, to rest in that assurance, is to calm down, is to stop stressing.  That helps loads!
