This is the only public place I feel comfortable telling anyone I'm a Christian. I was brought up Christian and feel most comfortable and safe with that title, and yet . . . I will not witness, nor proselytize, nor pretend as though I've ever read the Bible, will admit I'm ignorant of what it says.
So why am I Christian? Because I identify with Christ and feel he's a protective force in my life. I identify with the people in Christ's life. He speaks to me directly sometimes and he makes sense. I like what he stands for, forgiveness, and unconditional love, he stands for sacrifice.
The pieta is what helped me through the divorce. When I was feeling sad and down-hearted for everything I was going through I came to the pieta and he reminded me how small my troubles were compared to those of others. He let me see the world in balance again. I love him, thank you!
